Donna Sabin
Donna Sabin, who lives in Northbrook , IL, volunteers for Paws for Patrick as the Chair of our Wish Granter team. This job is the heart and soul of who we are and what we do. Our mission is to connect young people with Emotional Support Animals (ESAs) to aid them as they live with mental health illness, and Donna oversees this process. When a client completes a questionnaire on our website indicating they are seeking our help, she contacts them first and will then connect them to a volunteer Wish Granter, who will handle their “case” from that point forward. Donna also handles recruiting and training new volunteers and has grown the program from 9 Wish Granters to over 50.
Donna, a former school librarian, loves spending time with her family and her dog Ruby. She is passionate about helping others who struggle with mental health because she knows firsthand how hard it can be to live with anxiety and depression. In addition to her work with Paws for Patrick she is a dedicated volunteer with CATCH, Inc. where she develops and procures content for Mental Health Coping Kits for children and young adults. Donna finds peace in gardening, walking Ruby, kickboxing, reading and traveling. She is thrilled to be involved in the Paws for Patrick Wish Granting program and takes great comfort in helping others find their perfect animal companion.
